“Embarrassment is the price you pay for greatness”
I read this a while ago and it’s one of those sort of statements that sticks in my brain for thinking about when I’ve stopped thinking about other things.
Why I haven’t achieved greatness? Is embarrassment a price too high for me to pay?
Do I not do things that might cause embarrassment? Or is my threshold for feeling embarrassed greater than the person who will reach greatness because their threshold for feeling embarrassed is lower?
I expect writing this sort of nonsense and letting other people read it could be a great source of embarrassment for that person (the easily embarrassed one).
If that person wrote this and felt embarrassed would they have paid the price for greatness - will I not achieve greatness because I am not embarrassed?
How great is greatness?
If I pretended to be embarrassed would that suffice?
I shan’t pretend.
What if someone else embarrassed you?
